Commencement Ceremony 2016

Crescent Leadership Academy honors the ritual of graduation because it memorializes our students’ accomplishments and marks the beginning of a new life for each and every graduate. Over 200 family and community members gathered to watch the nervous and excited graduates as they entered Titan Hall one last time.

Guest speaker Nolan D. Paige, Assistant United States Attorney commended the graduates for staying the course to receive high school diplomas. “Because there are fifteen of you graduating today, that means you all took fifteen different paths to get to the same destination – here. Although your obstacles were different, the one common denominator that binds you together is the hard work, dedication and determination that it took for each of you to earn your diploma.”

Every 2016 CLA graduate will be attending college, enlisting in the military or pursuing a career. Valedictorian DeJonae Curtis was accepted into the Air Force and will start her service in August. Des’Trell Banks, Salutatorian, will begin her studies in the Fall at Dillard University with a four-year scholarship. We wish all of our graduates luck as they continue their different pathways to 15 bright and successful futures.
