The organizational structure of the school focuses on small learning communities based on academic and career goals and socio-emotional development needs. These flexibly-grouped communities will provide individualized instruction, promote safety, and in some cases, bring together students with similar needs. Staff-to-student ratios will be 15 to one or less, and in many classrooms, students will receive assistance from both Teachers and staff serving as Behavioral Mentors.
A professional staff specifically trained in working with student behaviors will address student needs in instruction and provide students with clear instruction in cognitive behavioral strategies and socio-emotional skills. Guidance Counselor, Teachers and Behavioral Mentors work with students throughout the day, and Behavioral Mentors provide students with support in the classroom, whether with academic work or behavioral support, while also modeling pro-social skills.
